Listed below, you'll find the event calendar for forthcoming trips. Note that these dates are presented in good faith, but are subject to last-minute changes or even cancellation, depending on weather conditions, destination availability, track closures, or other factors beyond my control. It's always a good idea to monitor the mailing lists or this page to keep up to date with what's happening. The Details information section for each date, plus the Trek Information Page for each location, will tell you everything you'll need to know. You can get to the Trek Information Page either through the hyperlink below each listed month, (ie: Moreton Island ) or via Locations in the main menu. Remember, if you wish to participate in any of these treks, you must contact me beforehand.

Event Calendar 2013

Trek Number: 38
Departure Time & Date: 0730 hours on Friday, December 27th, 2013
Return Time & Date: 1600 hours on Saturday, January 4th, 2014

We're hosting another 4WD BDSM Getaway! Weekend at one of our favourite locations, Moreton Island, QLD, from  December 27th 2013 to January 4th 2014 inclusive.

We'll be boarding the barge at 0730 hours on Friday the 27th, and leaving the island at 1600 hours on Saturday the 4th. You'll need to organise and pay for your own vehicle passage on Micat - the web site for bookings is and along with the vehicle passage, you'll need a beach permit for driving. Micat can organise this for you, or you can do it yourself online at under the *permits* section. You'll also need to pay QLD Parks for your camping fees, which you can do on the same web site, or if you like you can contact me and I can arrange camping permits and beach driving permits for you (this is the better option as I already have the core group booked into a specific location).

We'll be camped on the eastern beach. Plenty of opportunity for fishing, swimming, or just lazing around.

You will need to be fully self-sufficient for a week, with adequate food, water, fuel, and any other supplies, as there's no 7-11 nearby. In fact, you'll be in the middle of Butt-Fuck-Nowhere.

Your vehicle MUST have low-range, a minimum grade of AT tyres, and full recovery gear. There are patches of soft-pack sand which will easily get you bogged if you're careless.

If you want to come along, you'll need to contact me as early as possible so we can make sure we can reserve places on the barge and at the camp sites. Moreton has a history of camp sites getting taken up at this time of year, so the later you leave it, the greater the chance you'll miss out. Reservations will NOT be taken by me after July 30th.

Also, if you want to come along and don't have a 4WD, it might be possible to hitch a lift in a truck with some spare seats. Again, contact me if this is what you want to do (no guarantees though).

At the present time, the costs are:
Vehicle Ferry Passage $228
Vehicle Beach Permit $42.15 (Valid 30 days)
Camping fees $5.45 per person per day (this trek is for 8 days)

Any questions, just contact me.
